Experimental Evaluation

In our experimental evaluation, we focused on two main algorithmic problems: a social welfare maximization problem under a given submodular valuation function for the auctioneer and a cost minimization problem arising in the context of spatial crowdsourcing. We evaluated selected algorithms in both problems, with the goal of identifying the ones with better performance. Our conclusions are summarized in Deliverable D.6.2.

Data Generation

We used both synthetic and real world data. Concerning the creation of synthetic datasets, we used appropriate methodologies so as to derive realistic instances of our problems. As for real data, we utilized data available from the platforms Guru and Freelancer. For a detailed overview on how we derived our datasets, we refer to Deliverable D.6.1.
